Discovering the best steak in Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach is more than just a tourist destination; it's a culinary gem waiting to be explored. The food culture here is rich and diverse, blending Southern hospitality with innovative culinary artistry. This city is home to a plethora of restaurants that cater to every craving, but today, we are embarking on a delicious quest to uncover the best steak in Myrtle Beach.

Myrtle Beach is known for the variety of restaurants, but also the whole Grand Strand area has so many amazing restaurants to choose from. I have narrowed the list down to my favorites when I’m in the area, and to only Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle, but I am sure there you will find amazing steaks in as far south as Georgetown SC.

Embarking on a Quest for the Perfect Cut

My search for the ultimate steak experience in Myrtle Beach was nothing short of an adventure. I visited well-known establishments and stumbled upon hidden gems, each promising a unique take on this beloved dish. From classic steakhouses to modern eateries, my taste buds were in for a treat.

Exploring Local Favorites

Best Steak Dish: Ribeye Steak

Angelos Steak and Pasta is a local favorite renowned for its warm atmosphere and delightful menu. The Ribeye Steak here is a must-try, with its juicy texture and perfectly seared crust. Pair it with one of their homemade pasta dishes for an unforgettable meal. Saturday night is Prime Rib night, and the 12 ounce is more than enough. While here, pair a steak with the Italian buffet for $8.99 more. Honestly, the Italian Buffet by itself is amazing, but this blog post is about steaks.

I have eaten here very often on my visits to Myrtle Beach and love it. I highly recommend it and the Italian Buffet. If you get a steak, it will come out on a sizzling skillet, so my advice is to order the steak a little less cooked than you typically would, as it will still be cooking on the hot plate when it is brought to the table.

Best Steak Dish: Filet Mignon

Ruth's Chris needs no introduction. This high-end steakhouse offers an upscale dining experience with its melt-in-your-mouth Filet Mignon. Cooked to perfection and served on a sizzling plate, this steak is the epitome of luxury.

I have not tried Ruth’s Chris at Myrtle Beach but have tried it in other places in the United States. You will never be disappointed at any location of Ruth’s Chris, and the rating proves that. Some steaks can be quite expensive, for example their greatest steaks are the Tomahawk or Cowboy Ribeye, but they are worth it.

Best Steak Dish: New York Strip

Angus Steakhouse and Seafood combines surf and turf in the most delectable way. Their New York Strip is tender and flavorful, complemented by a side of fresh seafood. It's the perfect spot for those who crave variety.

Join their VIP Club or check out their happy hour specials, you will not be disappointed. Be sure to add in some seafood dishes too.

Best Steak Dish: Bone-In Ribeye

21 Main Prime Steakhouse offers an elegant dining experience with its sophisticated ambiance and exquisite menu. The Bone-In Ribeye is a standout dish or main attraction, with its rich marbling and robust flavor. It's a true carnivore's delight.

Reservations are highly recommended, and the feel of this place is very classy. This is a great place for good drinks also.

Best Steak Dish: Sirloin

Chuck's Steakhouse is a classic spot known for its relaxed vibe and hearty meals. The Sirloin steak here is seasoned to perfection and grilled just right. It's a great place to unwind and enjoy a satisfying meal.

Their certified angus beef has been served up in the Myrtle Beach area since 1979. The Prime Rib looks amazing, and they have an 8-ounce version for those of you who cannot eat 12 ounces for dinner when you have appetizers and sides too.

Best Steak Dish: Porterhouse

New York Prime Steakhouse is a favorite among locals and visitors alike. The Porterhouse steak is a showstopper, offering the best of both worlds with its tenderloin and strip steak sections. This dish is a testament to the art of steak cooking.

Located on Restaurant Row, Highway 17 is loaded with many restaurants, but this one should not be missed. This classy restaurant also has locations in Boca Raton Florida, and Atlanta Georgia, and it is advised to make reservations for the dining room. With the USDA Prime steaks only, my favorite is the Delmonico steak, but the Porterhouse for 2 is amazing.

Rating: 4.7 out of 5

Best Steak Dish: Picanha

Rioz Brazilian Steakhouse brings a unique twist to the traditional steakhouse experience with its Brazilian rodizio-style service. The Picanha, or top sirloin cap, is a highlight, offering a juicy and flavorful bite. It's a meat lover's paradise.

If you have never tried a Brazilian Steakhouse, you must do so. It is an amazing experience, where you flip a card on your table to get more meat brought to your table. This is a unique dining experience compared to the traditional steakhouses of the United States.

Best Steak Dish: Prime Rib

Thoroughbreds Chop House combines Southern charm with fine dining. Their Prime Rib is slow-roasted to perfection, delivering a tender and succulent experience. It's a dish that keeps diners coming back for more.

Open for more than 30 years in the Grand Strand area, you will not be disappointed. Schedule private events here too, and it is a must to check out the desserts.
