My visits to Lewisburg
I have visited so many times, in fact too many to count, but you could always count on me visiting the State Fair of West Virginia several times during its 10-day run in August of every year. My first concert was at an outdoor concert at the State Fair, and I have seen many more over the years. Visiting the shops under the Grandstand, the WV room where you could find blue ribbon winners for baking, sewing and even flower arranging. Visiting the agricultural area with the livestock and other animals was one of my favorite spots as a child, and of course the carnival rides and food were amazing. Of course it was most special to me as a child, but even the adult in me loves to take a trip to the State Fair and get a cheeseburger from the Greenbrier East Band food booth, and an Apple dumpling with ice cream from a vendor not far away. There is always great food to find at the State Fair.
I have made many visits to Lewisburg for other reasons. I have gone to the chocolate festival once and stayed a weekend at The Greenbrier. I have walked the historic district streets and even went shopping for antiques. This is one of my favorite cities to visit in Southern West Virginia.
