Gold Rock Beach features miles of pristine, white sand and crystal-clear waters. The beach is part of the national park, so it's well-preserved and offers a natural, untouched beauty. It's a great spot for a quiet day of sunbathing and swimming. I have visited this beach and the picture in this section is one I took 15 years ago. Absolutely breathtaking. This was at high tide so there was not much of a coastline, but you could walk out into the calm and peaceful waters a long distance. By far this is the best beach I have ever been to in my life.
The walk from the area you are dropped off at is on elevated boardwalks, where you then have to climb down a little bit of a sand dune to the beach, or at least in the section I went to. Even though the boardwalk is handicap friendly, to take the 3 steps or so down to the beach are not, in fact they are not real steps at all. Still this beach will make you feel like you are on your own private island.

The Lucayan National Park is home to fascinating underwater caves, which you can explore on guided tours. I took a 15-minute glance at the cave before heading down to the beach. To be honest, it was nothing like a cave I have seen anywhere else, it was a big hole in the ground. Still these cave systems are neat and connected, but I do not recommend entry to any without a tour guide. The park also has several trails where you can enjoy a hike through mangroves and other natural habitats. Additionally, picnic areas are available for a relaxing meal with a view.

Paradise Cove

This was the beach I came to on trip number 3 to Freeport and was purchased as more of a shore excursion because I wanted to snorkel and was not bringing snorkeling equipment with me. The beach was nice, the food stand was great, and the snorkeling was amazing around Deadman's reef.
What to expect
Honestly if you are looking for beautiful shallow water, this is not the beach area for you. Of course the sand is great, but it gets deep pretty quick when you step out into the water. It's a pretty shade of blue but not the prettiest I have seen in Freeport. As for snorkeling, it was top notch. Swimming out to the reef from the beach was not hard at all for an average swimmer, and the reef will not disappoint, you will see many varieties of fishes, sea anemones, sea coral.
Nearby attractions
The swimming with the pig's excursion is located nearby and is available with cruise line shore excursion or from a third-party site like Viator. Bahamas Beach is close too, just a little bit down the road and is a nice beach area, but I have not gone to it. This is one of the farthest away from cruise ships, just by how your taxi or shore excursion will have to drive to get to.
