Summersville Lake Retreat is a great place located right on the Summersville Lake, they have cabins and a campground or tents and RV sites also. With its location on right on the lake they offer boat rentals and other water activities, plus tours of the lighthouse on the lake. Yes, I said lighthouse on a lake, a must see. This is one of the best places to stay if you want to spend time on the lake as well as visit other sights in the New RIver Gorge National Park.


For more settled accommodations, Chalets at the Lake offers 12 cabins to choose from. Each cabin can hold up to 6 people in the semi secluded area in the woods near Summersville Lake. All have fire pits and the basics required for a great stay, including air conditioning, but some even offer hot tubs. Although it is farther away this larger city has all the major conveniences you might need with plenty of hotels and restaurants and even a small airport.


The Daniel Vineyards with their luxurious wines and stay at the Cabins at Pine Haven , where they have cute cabins and cottages, but also treehouses with all the modern amenities you will need, even a hot tub if you like. Beckley's Comfort Inn provides modern amenities a stone's throw from Tamarack, West Virginia's renowned collection of Appalachian crafts.
